Upcoming: White Ribbon Night Gala to Benefit Penelope's Place

BrocktonPost
BROCKTON--Love Life Now Foundation for Penelope’s Place will host a White Ribbon Night Gala to benefit Brockton's Penelope Place Friday, Feb. 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
The event will be held at Boston's Phillips Old Colony House, the Windsor Room, 780 Morrissey Blvd.
Tickets are $40 with all proceeds benefitting Penelope's Place Domestic Violence Shelter in Brockton.
For tickets, please call 617-803-8357.
The White Ribbon Campaign was created by a handful of Canadian men in 1991 on the second anniversary of one man's massacre of 14 women in Montreal.
The campaign began as a way to urge men to speak out against violence against women. This gala will be an avenue to educate men about the ways they can be part of the solution in ending the violence against women, spread awareness against domestic violence as well as raise funds to support Penelope's Place Domestic Violence Shelter-Health Imperatives in Brockton.
With male awareness at the forefront of the evening, we are excited to have the following:
- Jamarhl Crawford, Publisher and Editor of The Blackstonian serving as host of the evening;

- Bob Ward, Investigative Reporter and Anchor for Fox 25 News;

- Larry Ridley, 7News Sports Weekend Anchor and Reporter;

- Craig Norberg-Bohm, Men's Initiative for Jane Doe Inc.;

- Unisons Male Acapella Group, Northeastern University;

- Antonio Arrendel, Executive Director of Metanoia;

- Acting Out, Northeastern University.
Women, we look forward to you coming out with your significant other or friends for a night of enlightenment, hors d'oeuvres, dancing and much more. Please note there will be a cash bar.
